The first embers of The Chosen Remnant began to glow in 1993, when a small group of singers, songwriters and musicians came together to give praise through song. This group was originally known as The Israelite Singers featuring David’s Strings. As the years passed, this small church-based group evolved into a full fledged professional performance group named The Chosen Remnant, complete with a junior division, performing both secular and Gospel music.

Under the banner of The Chosen Remnant, the group has performed in Atlanta, New York, New Jersey and London England, as well as through out the GTA . The Journey,an original musical stage play written and directed by Dora Mavor Moore award winner Shadrock Porter, was performed entirely by members of The Chosen Remnant in Toronto and London England, with the invitation to perform in New York this coming fall. The Chosen Remnant has recorded several albums to date, with more currently in the works.

The Chosen Remnant’s greatest strength lies in it’s diversity. Members of The Chosen Remnant compose and sing in all styles of Gospel with leads specializing in Reggae, Traditional Tambourine-driven Gospel, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Acapella, Calypso, Rock and Negro Spirituals.

It is the mission of The Chosen Remnant to inspire, to uplift and to bring people of every culture and religious belief together through the power of song.
